Trophies for Queensland Viticulturist of the Year, Queensland Winemaker of the Year and Queensland Winery of the Year will adorn the cellar door of Golden Grove Estate in the Granite Belt.  And yet another trophy was received for the Golden Grove Estate 2010 Durif (Champion Alternative Variety Red Wine).  Talented winemaker Ray Costanzo received Gold medals for 2012 Vermentino, 2010 Shiraz, 2010 Tempranillo and 2010 Durif,  Silver medals for 2009 Semillon, 2010 Malbec, 2011 Barbera and 2011 NeroD’Avola and Bronze medals for 2011 Durif and 2012 Sauvignon Blanc.  Sam Costanzo as viticulturist can take the credit for working the vineyard to produce the grapes for these successful wines.

The Champion Mainstream Variety Red Wine was the 2010 Jester Hill Wines Touchstone Shiraz which went on to win the Champion Wine of the Show.

Other trophy winners were Heritage Estate 2009 Semillon (Champion Mainstream Variety White Wine) and Ballandean Estate 2012 Viognier  (Champion Alternative Variety White Wine and Champion Wine $20 and under)

The Outstanding Wine of Provenance was awarded to a set of chardonnays from Robert Channon Wines- these were the Reserve Chardonnay 2005, 2007 and 2009.

The Queensland Cellar Door of the Year trophy was taken out by Somerset Valleys’ Ocean Views Estate in very close competition with Sirromet (Brisbane), Ballandean Estate Wines (Granite Belt) and Jester Hill Wines (Granite Belt).
