The Australian Small Winemakers Show held in Stanthorpe yielded a pleasing haul of medals for Queensland producers. From 205 Queensland wines entered, 58 received medals. Overall the show received 1409 entries from producers of less than 500tonnes and from all Australian States and New Zealand.

Symphony Hill Wines from the Granite Belt received trophies for the Most Successful Queensland Exhibitor, Best Queensland Red Wine and the Dick de Luca Memorial Trophy for the Best Queensland Shiraz as well as the Awards for Technical Excellence in Queensland Winemaking. The Best Queensland White Wine was awarded to the Mason Wines  2012 Cellar collection Chardonnay.


Shiraz figured prominently with three of the 4 Gold medals to Queensland producers awarded to shiraz wines – Symphony Hill 2008 reserve Shiraz, Pyramids Road 2012 Shiraz and Jester Hill Wines 2010 Touchstone Shiraz. Eleven Silver Medals and 44 Bronze were awarded to Queensland producers.
