Known as Syrah in its home in the northern Rhone area in France, the grape became known as Shiraz in Australia and Shiraz is a name used world-wide interchangeably with Syrah.

The results are in for the 2021 QLD Wine Awards. This year’s show had almost double the entrants than what we were expecting which is a great result.

In its 37th year, the Queensland Wine Awards is a celebration of our industry recognising excellence in winemaking, viticulture and the contributions made by individuals and businesses in progressing our industry.

In its thirty-sixth year, the Awards is a celebration of our industry – recognising excellence in wine making and the contributions made by persons and businesses in progressing our industry.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 21st November, 3.30pm at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism, Stanthorpe. Members and non-members of the Queensland Wine Industry Association are welcome to attend.
